What are process heaters?

Top Steam offers a range of boilers, including the high-quality, reliable units called TH hot water boilers. These boilers can also be described as automated in-line process heaters due to their similarities. Read more about process heaters below:

Purpose

Process heaters, also known as fire heaters, have many different purposes, depending on the type of process heater being used. An in-line process heater – the type of heater that can be compared to our very own TH hot water boiler – heats fluids, such as water and oil, flowing through an open system; however, there are some process heaters that are used to maintain the heat of circulating fluids in a closed system.

The heating method

There are two different ways for process heaters to provide open and closed systems with the necessary heat: indirect and direct immersion. Indirect immersion heats the fluids through convection while direct immersion process heaters immerses the main heating element directly into the fluid being heated. The direct immersion method is used for when the fluid is in circulation.

The applications

Process heaters can be used for many different applications including temperature regulation in water cooled engines, steam heating, processing corrosive solutions and so much more. These high-quality machines can be used in various types of cleaning equipment, including steam cleaners, as well as areas of the home such as the shower or bath.
