Types of electric process heaters

There are many different types of process heaters including diesel process heaters, gas process heaters and electric process heaters. As the name suggests, electric process heaters use electricity to heat the fluid within the system. There are a few different types of electric process heaters that can be used for various applications. Read about the different types of electric process heaters below:

 

Immersion

Immersion heaters are electric process heaters that immerse the electric element into the fluid in the system, making direct contact with the fluid. This technique is highly beneficial as there is little to no waste of energy because almost all the electricity is converted into heat that is then used to regulate the temperature of fluid in a system.

 

Electric thermal fluid heater

There is a type of electric process heater known as an electric thermal fluid heater. These heating systems use a method known as indirect heating in order to heat the fluid within the process heaters system. This technique involves the use of a secondary fluid, such as water or thermal oil, that transfers the heat to the process fluid. Closed systems will often use processes such as this to heat fluids.

 

Circulation

A circulation heater is a type of electric process heater that has a heating element within the tube which the fluid passes over. These electric heating systems work well in enclosed systems and can be designed in order to meet the needs of a unique system.
